Antelope Canyon Photograph

This photograph of Antelope Canyon captures the intense glowing colours created by the reflected light, red sand stone, and beautiful light beams making their way to the canyon floor. This was a place I had been keen to visit for years. I knew it would be stunning but as I walked into the slot canyon it really did take my breath away. It was even more stunning than I had imagined.

Upper Antelope Canyon Glowing

Photographing Antelope Canyon is an experience I will never forget. Driving across Arizona I felt like a kid at Christmas. I was so excited to witness the magical glow found in these slot canyons. This photograph was made in Upper Antelope Canyon. I was primarily photographing the light beams that this canyon is known for, however this composition could not be passed up!

‘The Light Above’

After a couple of attempts at getting exactly the composition I had in mind I got it. Spending two days capturing the colours, glowing light, and rock formations that are Antelope Canyon was an absolute blast! I wish I could have spent more time there but I have no doubt I will return!

‘Tones’

The different colours and textures of Antelope Canyon. They are noticeable to the eye however the camera is more sensitive to these differences in colour temperature. Photographing Antelope Canyon was an incredible experience and I was almost intimidated by its beauty and nervous I would fail to capture it. However I came home with a number of photographs that I love from this visit and cannot wait to one day visit more slot canyons in the south-west of the United States.

Soul Dance – Antelope Canyon

This photograph of Antelope Canyon located within Navajo lands of Arizona captures the colours of this phenomenal place. The smooth sand stone has been eroded over thousands of years by wind and flash floods. The result is remarkable! Light shafts from the midday sun create surreal moments. A local Navajo Indian threw sand into the lights path and my capture reveals a figure that in my eyes looks as if it is dancing in the canyon. Also notice the where the light reaches the ground creating a unique love heart. This place really blew me away! It is a location I will never forget!
