Beautiful Burns Beach Photograph

Yesterday was yet another very warm day in Perth, and by afternoon some clouds were building. Often warm temperatures and clouds around bring interesting weather, and there looked like there was potential for a nice sunset. When I arrived at one of my favourite local beaches I could resist but set-up this composition to see how it would look under a nice sunset. I really got more than I expected with this sunset. The tides were perfect again fro this shot, the colours were brilliant AND in the small patch of rain over the ocean, lightning starting striking fairly regularly! I couldn’t believe how perfectly the strikes were landing at the end of this channel too! I was stoked!

This spot both times I have photographed it has been very sketchy. This time was even more intense with my camera on numerous occasions only about 10cm or less out of the rushing water with the tripod being submerged. I was nervous but knew I could capture something sweet if I just kept my eye on the incoming waves. I have always photographed under with a ‘no risk, no reward’ attitude, and anyone who has seen me give a presentation will no I often mention it! I think it really paid off!
