"There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs." Ansel Adams

Happier than previous post

Well back to Wedge!

Was up at Wedge for Saturday night and wanted to take my camera gear as i knew it would be clear skies and i was determined to get a shot i had framed up in my mind. The intense wind that Wedge so often experiences was at it again which meant i would be shooting with no pano head so the camera remained dead still. I got the lads to let me out on the beach and I sat alone shooting the coastline at dusk and it was fantastic. Such a simple scene that needed minimal help from photoshop. That is what is making me happy. Scenes that are that good that you dont want to ruin them by getting caught in the PS trap!

This is a two image manually blended stitch as it was shot with out the pano head, and cropped in a bit for the 3:1 ratio. Still good for atleast a 60 inch wide print! Loving my mk2! 😀

  3. Nice oily dusk look to this one, looks like some of the images I shot at Cable Beach. I like the almost surreal touch this has.

    • Cheers flemming! as i said im stoked on this light cause there were levels, curves, saturation and vibrance, and some dodge and burn to bring out the left side a touch more…. thats it! So much more pleasing having a photo that barely needs processing!
Printed this today at 60 inches by 20 inches…. Shot at either 400, 500 or 600iso and still mint. Didnt even use a noise reduction. Already had two people today look at the print and say ‘it looks like a painting’. Was great hearing that!
