"There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs." Ansel Adams

Yeah ok he is pretty over the top but he really inspires me and you can tell photography means the world to him! This video has me itching to go on more road trips!

  1. Extreme, I wish I could get that enthusiastic.
The helicopter crash was fairly hardcore.

Not a fan of his crappy hat.

  5. Marketing , marketing , marketing.

You can see why he closed down in Australia, so he could take all his bullshit crap to the US , the yanks go crazy over all that wanky stuff.

Not sure if it’s photography or money that is driving him , but I’d have as a guess which one it is.

Reminds me of John Mcain ( Bruce Willis ) in Die Hard.

Doesn’t inspire me at all , puts me off if anything.

Each to there own , and it’s just my opinion, but I’m not a fan.

  6. I think your being a bit harsh there mate! He would have been hard pressed to be generating the same income from his gallerys in aus and they probably would have been generating some financial loss, when you consider the prices of his images and the standard to which is gallerys are kept. Having travelled the states i can easily agree that america has some of the greatest landscapes around all thanks propbably to the plates which the land sits on.
I think anyone who can be that excited about photography will see success and good on him for creating a multi million dollar industry from scratch!
As you said though, each to their own…

    • Maybe I’m a bit harsh on him. You can’t help but admire his work , there’s no denying that , it’s excellent stuff. I just don’t go for all that over the top ranting and raving, that sort of thing puts me of , but i guess it works for him.

  7. It’s just advertising at it’s best, I don’t go for it, but it’s entertainment, his effort on youtube are a hoot whether you take them seriously or take the mickey. ‘That’s Entertainment’… The Jam:)

  8. Cheers for that, Foxy. I find him inspirational. I think this is clearly a joke and has just been put out there to get people talking. That 5 panel Yosemite shot in his gallery looks fuckin’ sweeeeet.

defiantly really enthusiastic about photography and probably puts on the personality for the American Audience as they you know they love over the top Australian stereo types as we’ve seen in the past from Paul hogan and Steve Iwrin .I personally like his work and defiantly going to see his Gallery in Vegas when Im over there in May

  14. i agree with Neal…he’s obviously doing something right and if I earned what he earns I wouldn’t really give a stuff if people thought I was nuts. After saying that I can only deal with listening to him in small doses cos he does lay it on thick but his success speaks for itself. Go Aussie Go

  15. he sure gets the money shots, one thing though, I have more hair than him, but he has more money, bigger mussles and lives in a kick arse place for landscape photography. Ok he wins!!!

Dylan, Likky has nothing on your car shots mate. Lost his Aussie style hat, gone for the backward baseball cap. loookout, we are losing him. haha. okay, i have the same hairstyle and the backward baseball cap is standard gear for a bald photographer in the sun. I should add a singlet and some oil to my kit tho!!! Love the drama and suspense, whats to happen next in the life of Likky.
