"There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs." Ansel Adams

Now that I am driving… where do I shoot first?

Well I went out on my first photo shoot in months! Of course the place to go was cott! đŸ˜‰ I went down with oli (who has been featured on this blog before) and was a little late to compose something for the awesome sunset but got some stuff I am very pleased with none the less!

The first was my last of the night. After shooting water and the beach I turned around to see these pillars (that Jamie has shot before) and one of them was standing out more than the other as the light was simply brighter on it! Unfortunatly lightroom processed this as a 8bit file (i dont know how it changed itself but it did) but its okay since it doesnt have a huge dynamic range anyway. It is a stitch with little precessing and no painting with light… thats just how much brighter it was… except for levels layer probably boosting the effect.

The second is my favourite of the night… It’s a single frame of the waves crashing on the shore. The bright lights of the Indiana Tea House lit up the sand which worked pretty nicely. Also only s little lightroom adjusting and a levels layer in PS.

  3. I’m liking the shallow depth of field in the first one, Dylan. did you try one with an even shallower dof?

    Cheers Beau!
I actually believe this was as shallow as i could manage!
I had a longer lens on and tried different physical & lens lengths and always had it set to f5.6 (or the lowest it could go)
