The Still Life

Well I read about 8 or so pages the other day from Brent’s book, and it is already awesome! So interesting. Previously I have done a lot of still life work in studios and at home. The ones shot at home are often shot in complete darkness and I use one of them little wind up LED torches. Last night I tried something a little different…

game day

This is two photos blended in photoshop. The Cubs hat was lit from the right of frame and slightly behind the hat, and during the exposure I lit the side of the hat facing the camera a little so it wasnt completely black.

The hat was then taken away and the ball was put in frame and lit from left of screen.

Im pretty happy with it and it was fun to start doing this again… since I am kinda stranded at the moment. And for those who are wondering… yes it was shot on a rug!
