"There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs." Ansel Adams

Second Attempt

I went back and tried to get a better result from last nights shoot. I really wish I was able to stack another grad for this one last night, as the sky is still a little blown, but much nicer than the previous post!

It’s 8 or 9 images and came in at 963mb. My biggest file. It’s about a 4:1 ratio, and had the ND8 grad and the ND8 filters stacked.

Happy Shooting!

  1. Very nice dramatic cloudscape, must have been an incredible sunset to witness. This version is much better with a lot more highlight detail.

I do envy your access to an amazing coast line!

yeah i am much happier with this one!
This one has a sun white balance which gives those deep blues in the sky.

  3. Yeah, this one is much better, in my opinion.

Funny how the two look so different. I had to keep flicking between the two trying to decide if it was the same image.

Yeah it was just a white balance adjustment that it needed.

  7. The second one is much better Dylan, maybe a little strong in the saturation for my eyes though.

    Cheers Neal,
I don’t think I did any saturating, but I will have a look at desaturating it a bit.

Cool got your filters Its so hard to find them in Perth .
Have you been getting any color cast when you start stacking your filters ?
I got some the other day when I stacked 2x ND8 and a ND8 grad got a purple/pinky cast of the sky ?
I also ordered my Nodal Ninja 🙂 Should have a new tripod by the time it arrives

Na Kirk I didn’t have any problems with this shot.
I don’t really understand the order process from the aussie page for nodal ninja… all it has is a contact link.

Actually Kirk if you look at the second image in the previous post, that colour could be thanks to the stacked filters.?…
